How an online gaming license is controlled in Greece

The check does not stop at the phrase "with EEEP license". You need to match the current registration with the legal entity, the license type and the specific domain. The absence of a clear match means that the check remains open, not that it was proven fraudulent.

NOTEThe foreign license alone does not prove the right to provide online gambling in Greece.

A

Record the item

Copy the domain from the address bar and find the company name in the terms. Don't rely on the brand name. Keep any license number exactly as it appears.

B

Open the live registry

EEEP has a white list of licenses and certifications. Search for exact match and note access date. A saved old page is not enough for today's conclusion.

C

Limit the conclusion

The result describes only what was found: a confirmed match, an unconfirmed match, or needs clarification. It does not automatically convert to a payment, service or safety rating.

PRACTICAL PROTOCOL

License Mapping Protocol

The phrase "licensed by EEEP" is a starting point for verification. The protocol compares the corporate ID, license type, and domain against the current record. It does not use the brand name as a shortcut and does not extend the regulatory effect to payments or service.

  1. 01

    Copy the domain

Get the address from the browser bar, along with subdomain and suffix. Record redirects if they occur. Don't correct characters to make it look like an expected name, and don't assume two domains belong to the same carrier because they have the same graphics.

  2. 02

    Find the legal entity

Look for the company name in the account terms and details, not just the brand name. Keep the declared license number and type as written. If the identity is unclear, this is recorded as a blank check.

  3. 03

    Use the white list

Open the white list from the official EEEP website and search for the exact registration. Check owner, license and domain together. Record date, fields and link, because the live registry can change.

  4. 04

    State the finding

If all match, write that the match was observed on that date. If an item is missing, write that it was not confirmed or needs clarification. Do not use the result as a guarantee for any product, withdrawal or communication.

Points that require pause and control

Commercial brand only

The brand may differ from the licensee. It needs a legal entity and a relationship with the domain.

Foreign license as proof

A license from another country does not replace the required Greek regulatory result.

Old save

A previous screenshot only describes the moment of capture. Current use requires a new check.

Frequently asked questions

Does HTTPS prove permission?

No. It shows that the connection to the specific domain is encrypted. It does not prove who is entitled to offer online gaming in Greece. The license is verified in the relevant registry.

What about two types of license?

The EEEP resource describes the online licensing framework. For a specific provider we do not assume a type from the games displayed; we record the official registration and check the applicable regulation.

When is a check considered unsuccessful?

When the mapping cannot be closed or the source is unavailable. This is not evidence of illegality. It is honest work situation that requires repetition or formal clarification.

When does it repeat?

When changing domain or corporate identity, before a decision based on an old result and before any nominal publication. Registries are not permanent certificates stored in the registry.

APPLICATION

Applying the check to difficult matching

The brand appears in Greek script, the terms show company in Latin characters and the domain includes an additional word. The researcher is not only looking for the brand. It records each item as it is, first searches for the legal entity and then checks the addresses of the record. If the additional word does not appear, the search is for the specific domain and not the entire trade group.

A page may redirect to a second address. Both are recorded, along with time and final destination. Final domain matching does not automatically heal any previous link or prove who created the ad. Editorial use needs to describe the actual sequence and ask for clarification of any missing intermediate elements.

A "pass/fail" grade is avoided on the report card. Fields, date and source are listed. A second tester should be able to repeat the search and come up with the same narrow sentence. Before a name page, the registration is repeated, because a change of registry or domain can make the original conclusion out of date.

  • Brand and company separately
  • Initial and final domain
  • Accurate register line
  • Second recheck

Record result

The control sheet keeps separately the text that declared the site and the field found in the white list. It does not correct the first wording to fit the second. If there is a different company name, number or domain, the point is highlighted and clarification is requested. A possible operator response is filed as its position and verified again in the registry. The final proposal always mentions the date and does not turn into a commercial recommendation.

Quick check before decision

Before relying on the match, reopen the page in a new tab and compare the domain written on the sheet with the browser line. Check that the date belongs to today's audit and not an old screenshot, that the company name was not abbreviated, and that the license type was not inferred from the site content. If one of these fails, the decision reverts to "needs clarification". The extra minute is less of a cost than an incorrect public identification.
